Another first. Roen has said his first word, eaten his first bite of food, taken his first steps, had his first trip to Disneyland, and now we can add his first illness to the list. Roen came down with some type of stomach bug one night out of nowhere. He began throwing up at 7pm with a 45 minute break in between up until about 10:30pm, which is the time that I started to throw up. Roen threw up about 3 more times while I slept by the toilet, hovering over every 30 minutes. Worst night ever! Matt took care of the both of us so well, and Roen even took care of me. When he heard me over the toilet, little Ro crawled out of bed and walked to me and handed me a water bottle. Then he just hugged me until I inched my way back to bed. He didn’t want to sleep without me by his side.
We spent the next four days recovering on the couch with cuddles and Netflix and even though I was miserable, it was blissful holding my boy in my arms for most of the day. He did, however, manage to drag me outside a few times. I have no idea how he managed to pull it together more than I could, but he did. Besides the vomiting, you wouldn’t be able to tell he was sick. He had no fever, no signs of dehydration, and no fussiness!
After we spent the much needed time resting, we made sure to spend our first day out of the house in the sun as much as possible. We went to a beautiful park for our cousins baby shower, where we snuck in a mini photo shoot, then we went to a resort where my grandparents were staying and swam in the pool and soaked up the sun.
Before his stomach bug, Roen has had some congestion from a little cold once or twice. Besides that, this kid has had a clean bill of health. No fevers, no ear infections, zero need for antibiotics, the way it should be! There was however, something that was said about him having the stomach flu that has really been bothering me. I’ve been wanting to address it but didn’t know how. Since it wasn’t said to my face, I couldn’t stick up for myself, but I still want the chance to set the record straight, as I know a lot of people really don’t understand it. So here’s part 2 of this post:
What it means to be vaccine free-
A comment was made about how Roen was probably sick because he doesn’t have any vaccinations. First of all, there is no vaccine for the stomach flu, nor is there a vaccine for ignorance. Just want to clear that up first and foremost.
Being vaccine free for Roen means that his immune system will have a chance to fully develop. The World Health Organization recommends that a child be breastfed until at least 2 years of age. Why? The short answer is because the immune system is developing and is very sensitive before then, and breastmilk offers the necessary antibodies in its place. Roens developing immune system will have the opportunity to develop antibodies naturally because over time, the body becomes more capable of synthesizing antibodies in response to antigens.
Being vaccine free also means that his body will never be injected with nasty neurotoxins and heavy metals that have never been studied in the combinations that they are given in the doses of vaccines.
It means that his body won’t have to be injected with toxins that take 8-10 years to migrate from the injection site through the lymph system until it lodges in his organs, like aluminum.
It means that vaccines will never bypass his respiratory tract (or mucous membrane) with any of the viruses that vaccines contain.
It means that I don’t have to put my child’s life in the hands of vaccine manufactures who will have zero liability if something happened to him as a result of the vaccines.
It means that Roens chances of developing autism are 1 in 10,000, rather than 1 in 48, and that his chances of having a learning disability, food allergy, epilepsy, stroke, or neurological disorder are also severely decreased.

It is possible to live a healthy lifestyle, and to build the immune system in totally natural and safe ways, with no side effects!
Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise.
