As March comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on this busy month. This past week especially. Our wedding anniversary, my sister coming into town for her bridal shower, and Easter Sunday!
Since I planned a little one nighter in LA last year for our anniversary, this year it was Matt’s turn. He decided to make his plan a surprise, so I packed a bag not knowing our destination, then he let me do a little retail therapy followed by lunch. After a few drinks I napped in the car ride to our next destination. When I opened my eyes we were in an airport parking lot! Matt grabbed some carry on bags and we threw our stuff into them and checked in for our flight! At that point, I still had no clue where we were going until we get got to the gate and read San Diego departure to Las Vegas! We had so much fun gambling and wandering around the strip for less than 24 hours until it was back to reality. If Matt would’ve asked me before if I had any desire to go to Vegas, my answer would have been no, but man was it the perfect little get-away to have no stress and know that my thoughtful husband had it all covered! We didn’t win big money, but I won by bringing home an awesome and caring husband who went through great lengths to surprise me!
Saturday was my oldest sisters bridal shower. She flew from Colorado so we could shower her in love! We shared lots of laughter and then headed to my Aunt Nancy’s house for more family time and a boat ride!
Our last exciting event in the month of March was Easter. After an awesome church service we headed to our relatives house who has hosted our Easter celebrations for years! The highlight was a tractor ride ambushed by a water balloon war! Roen may or may not be forever traumatized by tractor rides, but it was an awesome celebration of Jesus’ resurrection!
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
